Daily studies in honesty and fundamentals of Jewish faith

We live in a time when more and more people are seeking guidance on how to improve the spiritual content of their lives. The response to already published daily-lesson works which address this need has been overwhelming. This book -- based on two works of the Chofetz Chaim that have never been translated -- offers a program for daily study in timely topics that are basic to Jewish life.

The first part of Lessons in Truth is based on Sefer Sefas Tamim, and focuses on honesty in word and deed. In a world where unscrupulousness and untruths are commonplace, the Jew is fiercely challenged by the Torah's high standards of integrity. What can inspire him to reject the low morals of modern society and emerge with his integrity untainted?

Awareness of fundamentals of Jewish faith, such as the primacy of Torah, reward and retribution, the life of the World to Come and the Final Redemption through the coming of Mashiach -- the subjects of the second part of the book, based on the Chofetz Chaim's Sefer Shem Olam.

As an added feature, the book contains some twenty-five lessons based on letters and insights of the Chofetz Chaim.

Rabbi Shimon Finkelman enlivens these daily lessons with stories and comments, so that no page is ever dry. Each day's selection crackles with meaning and challenge. This is a book that should be read aloud to family, students and study groups. It should be the basis for discussion on how to bring its message into practice.
