by : Rabbi Jack Abramowitz

“Rabbi Abramowitz’s writing and translations mirror that of Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan... a witty writing style that engages, as well as educates.” — Rabbi Steven Burg, Chief Executive Officer, Aish

“The key to Rabbi Jack Abramowitz’s success is not just in summarizing, but in his understanding of what speaks to people today. His writing is filled with tasteful puns and pop-culture references, and also with lessons that are very relevant to our daily lives.” — Rabbi Gil Student, Editor, TorahMusings.com

If you’ve heard of Nach Yomi, it’s almost definitely because of Rabbi Jack Abramowitz. While he didn’t create the daily study of a chapter of Nach (the Jewish Bible after the ubiquitous Five Books of Moses), he popularized it from an obscure learning program to a worldwide phenomenon. Rabbi Abramowitz has spearheaded the Orthodox Union’s Nach Yomi since its inception in 2007. In addition to delivering a number of the daily lectures, Rabbi Abramowitz authored the acclaimed daily synopses, collectively known as The Nach Yomi Companion. Use this handy volume to familiarize yourself with Jewish scripture, or to explain difficult passages as part of your own deeper study. Rabbi Jack Abramowitz, MS Ed, is the editor of the OU Torah website for the Orthodox Union, is the educational correspondent for Jew in the City, and previously served as Director of National Programs for NCSY. He is the author of seven books, including Ask Rabbi Jack, The God Book, The Taryag Companion, and The Shnayim Mikra Companion.
